"Grey Sled" Performs at Student Center
On Saturday, April 22, alumni Derek Rodgers and his fiancée Bethany Zuniga visited Christendom's new café; however, they stopped in for more than just a cup of coffee. The couple brought their instruments, a guitar, harmonica, and bongos. Their band "Grey Sled," is the first group to ever use the side stage in the café, and the evening proved popular to Christendom students.
Throughout the night the café served coffee while Rodgers and Zuniga entertained students with folk/Christian pop music. "I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the café," said Junior Danielle Lussier, "and it was great seeing Bethany and Derek! It felt like they were home again."
In addition to keeping the café full of students, Rodgers and Zuniga were able to sell most of their CDs after the performance, giving Christendom students quite a discount. "We're just so glad to be back," said Rodgers, "and I feel like we are giving something back to the college."
